Manually Machined Hammer
Personal Project
Jun. 2022
In order to demonstrate to machine shop professionals my ability with the machines, I built a hammer from carbon steel cylindrical and rectangular stock. I turned the handle on a manual lathe and machined the head on a manual mill. The two parts were assembled with a pin.

On the head, I machined triangular chamfers, a rounded end, and my initials on one side. For the handle, I filleted the middle section, and I added a semi-spherical feature on the bottom. I then polished for a smoother feel.
